Something I'm Reading:
It’s been a busy week so I actually haven’t read anything this week. So - shoot me a text and tell me what you’ve been reading. What books have been impacting you and your business? I’ll share a few in next week’s Behind the Beard.
Something I Teach:
I read a book not too long ago called The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan. It teaches on the following idea which I think is so good:
In any area of your life, there’s an ideal version of yourself (whether it’s fitness, family, finances, your business etc) and then there’s where you started. Right now, you’re somewhere in between. Entrepreneurs have a tendency to focus on the gap from where they are right now and the ideal version of themselves and they base their happiness off of that gap. But because the gap always moves, they are never fully happy. Instead, it’s timportant to focus on the gain - how far you have come from where you first started. To do this, write down where you were 10 years ago, 5 years ago, and 1 year ago and reflect on how far you’ve come.
Something I Photographed:
Each week I share a photo I snapped in the previous week. Sometimes serious. Sometimes random and funny. Maybe a selfie once in a while. Just because.
Enjoying the hotel hot tub in Vegas last week!
Something I'm Excited About:
I’m back in Maui and enjoying some time with the family for Christmas! And speaking of Maui, be sure to follow the new Month in Maui Instagram page if ya haven’t yet ;) I’ll be doing more with this in the near future so stay tuned!
Something I Can Answer:
Each week, I'll be answering one question from someone on my BehindTheBeard textletter! Want your question answered? Submit it by simply replying to this text!
Question: “Brandon, what's your morning routine? What habits have you set to ensure success?”
I try wake up at 5:30 or by 6 at the latest depending on how late I went to bed. I make myself a cup of coffee and read a chapter of the Bible and a business book or mindset/productivity book. I pray and meditate for 10 minutes and then go through my goals and track my habits in my Intention Journal. Lastly, I exercise or, if I plan exercising later in the day, then I do some sort of push ups or light activity to wake myself up and get my heart rate going!
Your Friend,
P.S. Have a question you want answered by me? Reply to this text with your question - I pick one to answer each week in Behind the Beard and do my best to reply to others directly via text.
