What I'm Reading:

Still reading "Red Rising," the fiction book I mentioned last week. But also working my way through a loooong book on stretching and preventing injury called "Becoming a Supple Leopard" by Dr Kelly Starrett. Sounds like a strange book to be reading, but as I age (I'm 35) I find myself more and more sore and prone to injury. But I know if I can master becoming a "supple leopard" - it will make the next 80 years of my life significantly better.

What I've Learned:

This week I learned that I'm terrible at keeping track of my stuff while traveling! I flew to Boise, ID to visit my friend AJ Osborn (episodes 388 and 286 of the BiggerPockets Podcast). While there, I left my iPad on the plane while on my layover and then a few hours later lost my laptop and 2nd iPad in Boise on the side of the road when we stopped to look at some goats.

Thankfully, I had the "Find My" app on the iPads, located both, and was able to get the laptop/iPad back when a good samaritan dropped them off at the police station. I was able to pick up the other iPad in the airport on our flight home. So - lesson learned: I can't be trusted with stuff when traveling.

A second thing I learned is I need to plan a "Buffer Day” where we have no plans when traveling with kids. It was an amazing trip, but it was go-go-go for a week. I should have planned an extra day when we arrived to... relax!

What I've Purchased:

I bought a ticket to a Kiawe Outdoor event and attended it last night. If you're not familiar with Kiawe Outdoor, it's a company my buddy Yeshua runs that does amazing "fine dining in a field” with lots of fire, wine, and good people. Like - we ate caviar (my first time!), fire-cooked sourdough bread with mango-butter, octopus, red snapper, and wagyu beef. Stupid-good food. If you ever come to Maui, do a Kiawe Outdoor dinner. And go follow them on Instagram right now so you can live vicariously through the photos and videos!

Two quick things about Kiawe Outdoor and the owner, Yeshua:

1.) When we host masterminds and masterclasses in Maui (yes, we'll be doing lots more), we always do a Kiawe event. It's amazing!

2.) Yeshua is my partner in my soon-to-launch subscription coffee company, BeardyBrew! He's awesome.

What I Photographed:

Each week I share a photo I snapped in the previous week. Sometimes serious. Sometimes random and funny. Maybe a selfie once in a while. Just because.

While in Boise, we went to an arcade/kids entertainment center and spent a few hours and a hundred bucks winning cool stuff...like tootsie rolls and inflatable balls. Great way to spend $100…and I’m not being sarcastic. So fun! This photo was Rosie trying to win one of those balls which she eventually did!

What I'm Excited About:

To be home - for a bit. I love traveling, but it's nice to come home and…rest.

Brandon
