Something I'm Reading:

I’m reading an advance copy of Exit Rich by Michelle Tucker and Sharon Lechter - we interviewed them on the podcast this week and it was phenomenal. The book is about selling your business and how to build a business assuming you might sell it one day. The book comes out later this month.

Something I've Learned:

I’m currently doing jiu-jitsu every week with a private instructor. It’s been really good but I find myself forgetting the moves I learned last week or even just 10 minutes ago. I realized it’s because I’m learning too much, too fast. So the past few weeks we’ve slowed down and I spent more time getting my reps in and repeating my actions - and I’m actually learning it better! I think this applies to every area of life. If you learn too much and go too broad, it’s hard to become an expert and retain the knowledge you do learn. Focus, do less, and be better!

Something I've Purchased:

I just reordered my third bottle of Marguerite's All Natural Mexican Seasoning. This stuff is seriously good and goes great with almost anything.

Something I Photographed:

Each week I share a photo I snapped in the previous week. Sometimes serious. Sometimes random and funny. Maybe a selfie once in a while. Just because.

My first vacation rental in Maui is almost finished. Though this picture might not convey that LOL!

Something I'm Excited About:

Open Door Capital Fund 4 was launched today and is now LIVE to all accredited investors! The team at Open Door Capital has been killing it - we already have 3 new offers accepted and another park under contract (about 550+ units in total) for this fund. If you’re an accredited investor and are interested in investing with us, reserve your spot here!

Something I Can Answer

Each week, I'll be answering one question from someone on my BehindTheBeard Text List! Want your question answered? Submit it by simply replying to this text!

Question:  “I'm 26 yrs old, just got my "big girl job" and would like my money to do more for me. With the cost of real estate going up, is now a good time for a young new person like myself to start?”

As the saying goes, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” I think real estate is the same way. Building your skill set now while it’s difficult and competitive will just make you a better investor for the next century of your life. So the short answer is yes, 100% - young people should start investing right now. If real estate drops in price, you’ll be better prepared to take down amazing deals. If not, then you’ll need the skill set you’re developing now to get deals in a continually competitive market.
