Something I'm Reading:

Just started a new book called “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World” by John Mark Comer.  This book is going to hurt to read.

Something I Teach:

I’ve been thinking a lot about this - there are three types of entrepreneurs: Level 1, 2, and 3. Level 1 says “I’ll buy a car and drive people around for money.”  Level 2 says “I’ll buy some cars, hire some drivers, and run this business.”  Level 3 says, “I’ll create a brand called Uber and make other people drive around.”  None of these levels are wrong, but the higher level you get to, the more money you’ll make and the bigger impact you’ll make on the world. So know where you are at and where you wanna go.

Something Cool I Own:

An Oculus Quest 2.  Super fun way to work out, and gives something fun to do at a party or get-together. I highly recommend getting one!

I spent the weekend over on Oahu, and got to eat dinner at this amazing property on the North Shore. A special thanks to my finance manager at Open Door Capital, Micah Cabagbag, for hooking that up!

Question:  “How do you overcome the discouragement from seeing others grow while you’re still learning the ropes?”

Grant Cardone talked a bit about this in “The 10x Rule” and I tell myself his advice whenever I’m feeling discouraged or jealous of someone else’s progress: If they are doing it, it means it CAN be done. And so I can do it too. In other words: other people’s success is not a sad thing, it’s hope for my future.
